Hi guys, do you have a tentative schedule for the new version of Wingate to come out?

Exciting!!

But I have learnt from previous releases that its best to wait awhile after a new release has been in circulation and make sure my ghost backups are up to date... i learnt that the hard way.

no insult to qbik, just good practice when i have over 100 users depending on wingate to be fully operational 95% of the time.

Yeah we had some clangers.

This one is 99.95% 6.0.4 though, with a bunch of bug-fixes. The main new features are in isolated areas (like the IMAP4 server), so the chances of that creating problems for the rest of the code are small.

We run it on our main gateway here (actually also on our border router) and it's been solid as.

So I guess it comes down to if you are having problems with 6.0.4, it's definitely worth a look. It fixes a bunch of problems with MTU, esp with VPN. Also auto-opening firewall holes for things like FTP etc.

New plugins too, which require 6.1.0 to work fully (no plugin logging on earlier WinGate versions).

Anyway, we just did what we hope will be the final build, so will be doing final testing on it tomorrow, then out it goes.

Cheers

Ran into a couple of minor problems with the plugins, so have had to push ETA out for WinGate 6.1, PureSight 2, and Kaspersky AV 2 until next Wed.

Sorry all for the delay.

Regards

Hi guys, just an inquiry, was the proposed bandwidth throttling of certain file types included in the new version?

Hi,
Unfortunately 6.1 does not have it since 6.1 is minor release which mostly fixes various bugs. Next major release will have this feature.
