Java login - challenged twice

Postby markt » Nov 09 05 12:08 am

Since upgrading to 6.1 we are being challenged twice (the majority of the time) for authentication. This is via the Java applet. When this does occur you can ignore the 2nd challenge and browse freely. This doesn't happen every time (annoying I know), but it is generating a few support calls - and I am curious as to what effect it has on the connections (doubled, etc).

Thanks

Mark.

Could you please confirm recepit of this post - this is now escalating and creating a security issue - as users are not able to log-out via the applet, the connection is left active. This means the potential for any passer by to hop on and use the browser.

I have had to set a scheduled action late pm to termiate all sessions to clear any ghost connections. This way users are at least forced to login at first use of the day.

Thanks

Double Challange

Postby rleidt » Feb 02 06 4:02 am

I've had this issue also on 2 or 3 units I know of in our building. I've been checking the forum for a clue and watching for the next release. I can add that it dosen't matter if I use proxy settings or not and it's not eveyone, just certain people and not all the time. I've been upgradeing JAVA also but still no fix.

Thanks,
rleidt

Hi,

Can you please give us the following information:

a) What OS is running on the WG machine
b) Are you using 6.1.1 or 6.1.0
c) what browser (and version) produces this error
d) what WWW proxy server settings do you have, with regards to policies and authentication?

regards
Roderick
