Updated Windows 98 to 2000 and Wingate doesn't work

Postby Davejr » Nov 24 03 6:18 am

Since I updated from Windows 98 to Windows 2000 The internet connecting client program doesnt load most of the time

ive noticed a trend that sometimes when i log on the IIS/PWS thing doesnt appear and those times the Wingate Internet Client doesnt load ... sometimes if I press the button that re adds the Winsock 2 code then it works, but its very random .. any ideas?

Im using the latest version of Wingate

thanks

Could you try uninstalling and reinstalling WinGate? Are you running Win2K pro or server? If server then have you turned off the DNS and DHCP?

im using windows 2000 pro (and windows 2000 is on the client machine, just to clarify). And yep ive reinstalled a few times, updated a couple of times and it still seems to not work sometimes. Any ideas? and is there a way to put the client back into the Winsock 2 bindings using some kind of command line link, cos i cud have that run every so often to make sure it works I spose.

This issue is on the client machines I take it? IE does the WinGate machine function correctly in other ways?
Have you uninstalled the WinGate client from a client PC? Try a reinstall of the client rather than WinGate.
