Could Wingate make NAT & Router functions at SAME TIME ?

Postby takusa100 » Jan 16 06 6:04 am

hi , friends:
First i wanna say Wingate Engine is the best inter-network Software i had seen, yeah, not only the efficiency but also the function are great !!
But now maybe i need wingate server do this :cuz there are several NICs in the machine,so i wanna this machine can translate address for the LAN user and connect the other server by other NIC(in the Router way,not NAT is better).

i setted all these NICs "internal" expect NAT outbound NIC,but it seemed all packets was forwarded by NAT.

Can i do this ?

thanks for your help

Hi

thanks!

WinGate will route and NAT. It will route traffic (forward without translating IPs) between any 2 interfaces marked as Internal, as long as it isn't using a default route to choose that interface (which is normally true).

NAT is performed when traffic is destined out a default route, or out an external interface from an internal one.
