Wingate v3.x

Postby marky_don » Jan 18 06 5:32 am

Hi there,

im in a serious stick situation, I'm a newley appointed IT manager and I do not have the user credentials to 'GO ONLINE' I know the local NT domain adminstrator but it fails.

What can I do.

It is fully registered and i need access ASAP.

I do have the original v3.0 installprogram, its only 2.3MB !

Is it worth re-installing over the top, going for a FREE upgrade..?

Any Help / Advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark

I don't think v3 supported using the windows user database, so you'll need to use an account in the WinGate user database.

You can reset the admin account by editing the registry.

1. stop WinGate
2. delete the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Qbik Software\WinGate\UserDatabase\Administrator
3. start WinGate
4. Log on with username "Administrator", and no password.
