What does the 8029 Workaround do?

Is it also useful for other Realtek chipset 8139/8169 (810xFamily)?

as far as I know it is only useful for 8029. It affects the way the driver processes calls into ProtocolReceive, and how it treats the packet lengths reported by the driver. there is a fairly well-known problem with the drivers for 8029 adapters, which this workaround is designed to fix.
