WinGate and Lancom VPN tunnel

Postby owitte » Feb 01 06 9:48 am

Hello all,

my problem: I need to connect to a VPN server (Lancom router 1711 VPN) from a client machine behind WinGate (v. 5.2.3). I can establish a VPN tunnel from VPN client to VPN server without any problems and I can see NAT UDP connections on port 500 between them in GateKeeper, but I can't ping any IP in the remote network, nothing works. It just seems there's absolutely no light in the tunnel... What am I missing?

I was searching this forum and the whole net for weeks without any progress so far. This problem must be related to WinGate: If I use the client from DMZ, everything works fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated

have a :-) day

Hi Oliver

Do you see any entries in GateKeeper's firewall tab when you try to establish the VPN connection?

Hello Adrien,

thanks for your quick response. No, nothing on the firewall tab besides the normal intrusion attempts. But I'm using a customized firewall configuration and blocked some ports for incoming connections:

135-139 TCP and UDP
445 TCP
1045-1432 TCP and UDP
1434-1997 TCP and UDP
3531 TCP and UDP

There're also some redirections to internal servers, i.e. 1433 to a SQL-Server, 2003 and 3842 for other services...

Any other ideas?
