Java authentication fails with 'No response port'

Postby miguellagos » Nov 27 03 8:05 am

I have problems with Java authentication, I obtain the message: 'No response port' in all my Windows XP Pro machines.
I can authenticate from Windows 98 machines.
Both internal address (192.168.0.1) and lookup address (127.0.0.1) are activated in the binding tab of the Remote Control Service

Wingate version: 4.5.2 installed in Win98 computer

Hi there Miguellagos,

IE6 on Xp doesnt have Java support installed by default, which is required for WinGate Java authentication to work.

You may wish to verify this, and download the Java support from MS Website for Internet Explorer 6. This should enable it to work properly.

Hope this helps

HI Erwin,

Have you guys tested with the SUN Java on XP? The java applet comes up blank.
Any way around this?
I can't even find where to download the MS version....

Thanks!
