KAV Plugin license HELP!

Postby kgoodknecht » Feb 04 06 4:53 am

I posted about 24 hrs ago in the KAV Plugin forum and have had no replies. This should be a simple resolution.
Due to changes in ENS, I have to run Wingate 6.04, meaning I cannot install KAV v2, I purchased a renewal of my license yesterday, which v1 will not recognize. Now my license is expired (at midnight), and I'm unprotected. Is there any resolution to this? Is the v1 license not avilable? I was not given a choice on the license version. So, IMO, the license should be backwards compatable, why is it not?

Hi Kevin

Kav 1.2 was released in 2003, long before we had our new licensing system, so it doesn't recognise the new keys. We do have backward compatibility with KAV2, but not forwards (see into the future) compatibility with the earlier KAV). We can generate you a v1-compatible license, alternatively you could try running the 6.1.1 engine with the 6.0.4 driver and run KAV2. I would be keen to find out what issues the new ENS driver is causing you so we can fix it.

Hi Adrien,
I've tried 6.1.1 when I do Win2k's NAT stops working. I have to run Windows NAT because it supports mapping multiple addresses going to multiple servers. I only purchased one license Thursday because I wasn't sure the new license would work on the V1 KAV engine. It is going to be a few days before I can purchase another license because I went ahead and activated the one I purchased Thursday on my home proxy last night, which I can run the latest Wingate release. E-mail me instructions on getting a v1 compatable license, as soon as I can make the transfer I'll purchase the new license.
