WWW/Sessions/Redirect ENS and WGIC activated: NOT WORK....

Hi,

I have installe wingate 5.1 on XPSP1
All works.... except ....

I have 3 computers on XP.
the 3 adress are statistic ones.
One is the server where Wingate is installed.
IE configured use Proxy: OK
IE configured use NAT : OK, just have configured the DNS, and the gate.

But just one remark:
From Services/WWW/Sessions/Redirect ENS and WGIC activated, seems
not work when use NAT from client. The NAT Works but the cache
directory, files are not added even after 1 day surf....

We see from Gatekeeper: NAT request only....
WWW Proxy use port 80 standard port. so not understand....

Does any one have a solution...

do you have firewall disabled? That stops TR from working.

Hi,

All firewall desactivated: Wingate firewall + Windows....
No firewall on all computer.....

The NAT works well, but the only problem is that the cache when use NAT seems not WORK..... NO files are added on the cache directory.

If anybody have a idea....

That is what I meant....

in order for Transparent Redirection to work, WinGate's firewall must be enabled, i.e. not set to disabled.

Same problem Even Wingate firewall activated: Custom selected, and allow all TCP/UDP.......

NOthing is added on the Cache directory when use NAT from another computer.......

->Extended Networking/General/custom and
->Extended Networking/Port Security/
just add a redirect packet IP to: to the Wigate Server for port 80

And now tha NAT Cache works... See Proxy request in place of NAT from Gatekeeper.....


Is some one have the same problem try it, it works for me....

Checking "Redirect ENS and WGIC sessions", know as Transparent Redirect, in the WWW Proxy will do exactly the same thing for you.

You not have read all my precedend Emails , so plse not write for
nothing.
I explain tou you why i the solution you tell not work.

I have a wingate Server on one computer with only one Network Card.
On my lan i have a NAT router given by my provider who authorised only
one adresse for use NAT router on my LAN.
To make others computers to be able to be connected to the NET i install a NAT server as wingate on one computer. But for wingate my Intranet, internet and LAN is not the same. But in reality, it's the same.
So when you "Redirect ENS and WGIC sessions", only Datas to the Net are redirected by defaut. So that's why it not work. He think that data from my lan is only for Local computer...So need to tell wingate to allow all Datas to be redirected even if it's Intranbet DATA by addin new rules .... 3 times...

actually we commonly use Transparent Redirection in this scenario, with just one LAN card in a machine. In order for it to work however, the interface must be designated as Internal, and that machine must be the default gateway for any client that wants to use it that way.

In fact I find it odd that you would have seen a NAT session before, since in order for NAT to be attempted in WinGate ENS (and therefore displayed in GateKeeper) there would need to be 2 interfaces. WinGate ENS will only NAT if it receives a packet from an Internal interface destined out an external one.

Yes it really woks...... Even use one Netwrok Card.....I confirm NAT works but WRS not works....

Ah, ok the LAN card is set as external, so the normal transparent redirection wouldn't work because this only applies to internal trusted interfaces.
