wingate port opening

Postby jeffreyloo » May 03 06 11:37 pm

I know wingate can do a port opening and redirection....just wanna check is it possible for wingate to do port redirection/opening base on IP address??
meaning i just wanna open that particular port for that ip only...

Thank You

Hi

WinGate can't do exactly that at the moment. We are working on this feature for the next major release (not the imminent maintenance release due out next week).

You can however set up a redirect and have policies decide who can use it, it's not ideal (the connection is set up then torn down when someone who isn't allowed to connects).

Regards

What product are you using, and do you have a website link?

*We can limit the connection to a port to a specific set of IP Addresses. i.e. Have a VNC server, but only one ip address can connect to the port.

*I do not think the SIP protocol will pass through WinGate although connectivity to the actual WinGate machine will be ok; that is why we would like to have a website link to the product you are using.

For outgoing connections, that will be based off the Gateway's metric in your route table. For incoming connections, it is a matter of creating the port mappings from your router to the external network card of WinGate.

**If you would like to only allow certain IP Addresses to connect to port 5060, then you their is a similar concept in this forum post; scenario 2.
