Inbound connection limit

Postby malvin » Nov 29 03 5:17 pm

Hi,

I was just wondering if the inbound connection limit of Windows XP pro and Windows 2000 pro has any effect on the licensing of WinGate. As mentioned in the knowledge base of microsoft, an inbound connection limit of 10 is set for Windows xp pro and windows 2000 pro.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -US;122920

This limit includes all transports and resource sharing protocols combined.

What will happen if somebody purchased a WinGate 25 User license and installed it on windows 2000 pro or windows xp pro, will the connection be limited to 10 at a time or will it be 25 at a time?

thankx,

Don't worry about it.

Hi malvin,

My name is Naryt. I am in Thailand.
Please do not worry about the maximum inbound connection session limit on those XP pro and 2000 with Wingate.

Now I am using Windows XP Home edition as a wingate server in my internet cafe. I have 20 computers connected to the internet via my xp home wingate server. And every machine can play internet as well.
It's not a problem.
I know that the maximum inbound connection limit you said is XP Home = 5, XP Pro = 10, 2000 = 10, but it will limit when you are browsing from windows to windows, sharing file and job-printings.
But in Wingate, there is no limit.

Sorry for my bad english, krab.
