Disable HTML cache in proxy

Postby M76 » May 14 06 12:22 am

is there a way to force the proxy to always re check html pages? Becuase when I'M visiting forums, etc I always get an old page. And I always have to force reload the page to view the actual one. The best would be to set the proxy don't cache html files just everything else, cause other files don't change often.

Cache Properties - General - Cache Options

Uncheck Enable cache lookups

This should turn off all caching.

You can also use the cache advanced criterion to specify what to cache. ("Not http url contains .html" for example)

Then why would I need a proxy? I could connect to the internet directly, I want the caching for image and other files that usually don't change.

You asked how to turn off caching.

However, to force the proxy to always re-check, set "number of days before rechecking xxx" to 0 for both of these. This setting stops WinGate from checking even if the browser does a ctrl-refresh. Setting it to 0 makes it behave as you expect.
