Route connections from one IP through a selected connection

Postby SShowron » May 18 06 1:41 am

Is this possible with Wingate?

My server has two net connections (Cable & ADSL). Cable is the default route for internet access for the network.

Is it possible to have the server (which runs Wingate) make all connections from a certian IP (computer) on the network go through a chosen connection (in this case the ADSL)

All connections need to be direct (IE: no proxying involved)

Possible or not?

Hi

WinGate can pump all traffic for a particular service through a particular connection, but not per user IP. If you are only worried about WWW traffic, you could set up another WWW proxy that only this user can use, and have it go through the ADSL connection.

Damn, ok.

The applications in use (Torrents, E-Mule, Limewire) don't get on with proxies or have limited proxy support.

Thanks anyway

(any chance this might make it to a future version?)

You could transparently proxy this one, and have your normal clients go through a manual proxy config to go through the other proxy.

Too much effort
and besides I don't want to have the change how anything is running right now.

Ohwell, guess that idea is out the window for me :(
