Cannot connect to https sites

Postby brudab » Jun 18 06 12:15 am

WinGate version: 6.1.3 (Build 1096)

Clients use WGIC. No proxy settings set in client browsers. IE's "automatically detect settings" is unchecked.

Clients authenticate successfully and can browse any http website. However, https connections result in an error page: "Page cannot be displayed"

The clients have their IP settings automatically provided by Wingate.
Their default gateway, dhcp server and dns server are all the server.

I have tried adding port 443 in the WWW Proxy Https settings.
No success.

What am I missing?

When a client establishes an HTTPS session can you see this session in Gatekeeper and/or in history?

Can you confirm that you are not intercepting port 443; that would break the connectivity *if you are using the transparent proxy.

Transparent proxy is unchecked.

However, I discovered a couple minutes ago that another client (with what I am 99% sure are identical settings) CAN login to https sites.

That client is using the WGIC, gets IP configuration via DHCP, is a member of the same domain as the other client, and has all IE settings identical.

Feel free to offer any more suggestions, but in the meantime I'll be going over both machines with a fine toothed comb.
