FTP server behind Wingate - Connection reset

Postby fantomas99 » Jun 22 06 6:38 pm

HI!

I have FTP server behind Wingate Firewall 6.1.2 (redirect port 21 to local server 192.168.22.10 with WS_FTP server). Connection reset after ~ 5 minute uploading (downloading).

1. Try setting the timeout option when creating the port mapping in WinGate; I presume the mapping is done via the Extended Networking Service.

2. Look in your FTP Server for any timeout values and the logs for more information.

3. How does the FTP Server connect to WinGate? NAT (Gateway) / WinGate Internet Client (WGIC)?

Also, FYI: Our latest version is 6.1.3.

Hi,
Is it TCP mapping redirection or ENS redirection?

A few things you could try.

1. Disable the Windows Firewall in the Windows Services for the sake of testing on the FTP Server.
2. Check in your Port Redirection whether you have selected "Don't Translate Source IP" for the TCP Port 21 rule.
3. You might have one network card pointing towards the LAN, and another network card/modem pointing towards the internet; if you do not need a default gateway on your internal network card, then make sure there is none.
4. Confirm from a 2nd Internet Client that the upload fails.
