Wingate doesn't find my network cards.

Postby Wicked2000 » Jul 22 06 12:00 am

Hi.

I installed Wingate on my computer to test it before I will implement it on my network.
But the problem is that when I install Wingate everything goes well then it asks to restart the machine and I do so.
After that I see Wingate servers are running. Everything looks good. I enter the software to Network tab and it's empty.
The network cards in my network place are there. And they are not working. I can't communicate to another computer or ping any other computer on my network. The internet is not working.

I tried to delete my network cards in device manager and reinstall them but still the network tab is empty.
The cards are not working at all untill I uninstall Wingate.

How to solve it?
I need to work on it in a test computer before I am installing it on my network.
Thanks.

This is intersting.
If i disable the ENS then Wingate finds the network card but I don't have NAT so it doesn't help me.

Anybody has this problem and can tell me how he fixed it?

Hi, give us details about the machine WG is installed on. What's the OS? The WG version you are installing? How you connect to internet -through router or directly? What other firewall or proxy server is or has been installed on this machine?etc. the more we know the faster the solution will be. Quickly though, it possibly is a software conflict of some type.

My computer is:
AMD 2600 sempron 754
Gigabyte K8ns
1G Memory
all the latest drivers from the manufactures's web sites

Windows XP Pro with SP2 and all the updates that Microsoft issued.

Ver WinGate6.1.4.1099-USE.EXE.

Via Linksys Wrt54gs.

I had a few software that I installed to find out what is the best Proxy server and I liked Wingate the best because all of his options. All software are uninstalled. And I don't have any firewall running even not Microsoft built in.

You can use Belarc advisor to generate the profile of your machine:
