How to determine WGIC version?

Postby pgr » Jul 21 06 4:12 am

Hi,

how can I know which version of the Wingate Client (WGIC) is installed on a given PC?

I can't seem to find an "About" dialog box that shows the version (like 6.1.2, 6.1.3, etc.).

Thanks.

Hi there

Since the WGIC msi installer is built as part of each WinGate (full) release (found in the WinGate\Client directory) there is no seperate version number on the WGIC applet.

However the WinGate readme.txt(Release notes) issued with WinGate is also included when you install the WGIC to the client machine.

The release version number is at the very top of the WinGate readme.txt which is can be found in the WinGate Internet Client entry on the Start\Programs\WinGate Internet Client (menu).

Nice, thanks.

Suggestion for the next version of Wingate: it would be great to show the version number in the Client Applet - that would be easier for end users to determine if they need an update.
