Need help with Bandwidth manager.

Postby Wicked2000 » Jul 25 06 8:26 pm

Hi all

I just installed Wingate on my server.
What I need to do is limit users bandwitdh so they wouldn't use all the Atm bandwitdh.

In wingate it is possible to limit but when I enabled it I didn't understood what to do there.

This is what I want to do.
I have Wingate setup as an transparent prxoy and it also gives Dhcp to the clients.
What I want to do is this
I want that a user will have 25K when he surfs and gets his data from the transparent proxy. and when the data is not in the proxy server then the client will have 15K download and 9K upload speed.

Does Wingate is able to do that? If not can you recommend me on a software that do so.
What I want to do is not to give to each IP in my network. What I want is to give a range of addresses and each and every IP will get what I wrote above. And not that a range of IP will share an amount of Bandwitdh.
Thank you.

Yes, Wingate can do that - you need to create a rule with unbalanced restrictions - please, refer to Wingate bandwidth throttling help. If there are details which are not clear in the manual (and I am sure there are plenty of them) - I will help you to configure it.
