HTTP filtering + Firewall setup

Postby ravnen » Aug 04 06 11:45 am

Hello Qbik

Does WinGate support HTTP signatures.
Ex. I would like to block P2P traffic from my Lan based on signatures, instead of blocking on port or applikation level.

Please see the link below, for a list of well known siganatures.
http://www.applicationsignatures.co.uk/

Also, does WinGate support a config, where you have it in a back-to-back
firewall setup.

WAN-PIX-DMZ-WinGate-LAN

Kind Regards

Hi

I checked out that web page. Luckily, most of these signatures are "User-agent" header fields in the HTTP request.

You have access to all request (but not response) headers in the WinGate policies, so you can actually set policies to block/allow requests based on the user-agent tag.

As for your second question, yes, that's a fairly common scenario.

Regards
