Postby baumann30 » Sep 19 06 11:18 pm

Today I can't connect with Gate Keeper locally...??!!
The error is:
There was a problem connecting
Socket error: Can't connect to remote host

I have tried to remove the history files...but no chance
What else can I do ???
Thanks for reply

Hi

Is the WinGate engine running? assuming that you have the correct settings to log in in GateKeeper, then unless you changed the port number of the remote control service in WinGate, or installed any other new program that uses port 808, normally the only reason you would get that error is if the engine isn't running.

Have you tried rebooting?

Yes it is running...but no chance...I have also rebooted...
I've copied Gatekeeper.exe to another computer, also no chance...the error given back is:
connection with wingate server terminated

So I solved the problem by setting back windows to the state of yesterday...now it is going well again...I have no idea, what was this ??!!

Connection terminated can happen if you modified policies and ended up denying access to your gatekeeper login.

If you used windows restore, then something modified your registry to mess up wingate.
I love Wingate, and it loves me!
