How to configure wingate when I use MSN message

Postby smilezgh » Nov 28 03 1:44 pm

Hi!

I use wingate 5.0, and when I use MSN message at client, I can communicate with my friends by Instant Messaging (IM), and I can transfer files to my friends, but I can not communicate with them by voice.
How to configure Wingate? Thanks!

Does MSN voice use the H.323 protocol? If so, you would need to upgrade to WinGate 5.1 or later (suggest 5.2) which supports the H.323 protocol. This (suite of) protocol(s) is commonly used by videoconferencing and telephone applications, but I'm not sure off the top of my head if MSN voice communications use this - quite likely since their NetMeeting product uses it.

I don't know how MSN voice communications work, but I download and trying Wingate 5.2 and the voice in MSN Messenger (version 6.1) don't work (I don't use NetMeeting).

MSN voice communications uses uPNP technology, but wingate cannot supports uPNP technology, so MSN voice communications cannot work.
