wingate just hangs

This has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks, twice this afternoon, ver 6.2.0 Build 1121 running on Win 2000--Wingate just plain hangs and no one can get on the internet. When I try to log into the Wingate engine, it will not accept the userid, says it does not recognize it. A restart of the Win 2000 machine does fix the problem. If there is any other information I can supply, please let me know. TGIA for any ideas.
