How to port forward

Postby crazyitalian1988 » Dec 28 06 11:18 am

Ok, so i want to forward ports 88 udp/tcp and 3074 udp/tcp in wingate. The device IP address is 192.168.1.113 and the router IP is 192.168.1.1. I believe i need to do a UDP and TCP mapping service, but I am new to this and have no idea what to do. This is related to my other post, but it is more straight foward. Also, can someone delete the anal fisting post...whats up with that.

Well, your help worked perfectly last night. However, when i tried to play a game, every live game failed. I could log in, but not games would let me connect. So, after much configuration, i gave up only to return to the normal settings. When i went to play, it failed again. After another hour of trying to solve the problem, I went to forum and found that xbox live was in fact down last night. Unbelievable. Anyway, I was able to play today and my connection is 10 times better. Madden and COD 3 are still a little troublesome, but thats their problem according to other reports. Thanks for all of your help!

hi there i found the above post very helpful and it indeed set the 360 nat status to open which made my sons day. now for the hiccup,
i have 2 sons with an xbox 360 each,i have tried to do exactly the same for the 2nd xbox but it simpley overwrites the 1st xbox's ip. so basically i cant get more thann 1 at a time to the open status.

can any of you experts help me please? thankyou very much indeed.

Are you using DHCP? what is allocating the IP addresses? your router or are you using WinGate for DHCP?

Hi

Is there any possibility you can change the incoming port for one of your sons? Then you could redirect one port to one, and the other to the other son's xbox.

Otherwise, you can only redirect one port to one IP.

thanks for reply but i dont think you can change what ports the 360 uses for xbox live....oh well was worth a go how ever i am a little surpried that with this excellent programme you can only redirect 1 port to 1 ip .

maybe its impossible to do so i dont know lol thats why i asked for help... but maybe something to add to future releases of yur product.

thanks for a great piece of software keep up the good work

Yup, having multiple services on one port is impossible. Nature of the beast sorry.

Basically, IP's and ports can be compared to parking buildings. The cars are services (i.e. the xbox). The Parking Building is an IP address. And each of the parking spaces in that building is a port.

Now here's the problem. Try parking two cars in the same car park. :)
Since both xboxs are trying to use the same carpark. The first one in will get the spot, and the second will have to either wait, or drive away.

If you could have changed the ports used by one of the xbox's, you could have parked the second xbox somewhere else in the parking building.
