Exclude times not working

Postby bhollna92000 » Feb 07 07 3:05 am

Hi!
We have wingate 6.2.0 Build 1121 and are running puresight and AV on a winxp pro machine. We want to use the exclude times for one group but not for other groups, however, even with the exclude times entered, in both system and www proxy server policies, that group doesn't seem to be excluded. Why would this be?

Also, on only certain machines, users are not being required to authenticate, although we are using Java authentication and "User must be authenticated" is checked on both www proxy proxy server policies and system policies.

Any ideas?

Time issue could be for a number of reasons. What groups do you now have listed under the WWW proxy server policies? Is the Everyone group listed there? If it is, then you may experience some difficulties getting things to work right. Are any users the members of more than one group?

My first thought on the authentication is perhaps those users/machines are using NAT?

No group overlap. "Everyone" is not being used but only specific groups.

Yes, they are using NAT.

Does WWW proxy have Transparent proxy enabled so NAT connections go through it? Do your policies in WWW proxy and Extended Networking have Default rights (System policies) set to are ignored? I suspect it must be some type of policy setting that is giving you grief. How are the browsers on your client machines that force authentication set up - direct proxy settings, NAT, WGIC?

Configuration

I have fixed the time setup issue, and I have fixed the Extended networking issue so that the system policies will be enforced with it. We'll see how it goes now! Thanks!
