Hi

Yes it does. Need to make sure that the WWW proxy policies require users to be authenticated though.

Hi Adrien,

When using NTLM authentication, I cannot run symantec live update without opening at least on website, is there any other way to run live update or other program that need connected to internet?

Thanks

Hi

you should add a policy which grants access to anyone unauthenticated to the symantec live updates sites then.

Dear Adrien,

Could I get a hint where part of wingate should I configure?

Thanks.

You would configure the part of WinGate that the client’s connection is passing through. So for example, if the domain name that delivers the Symantec updates is symantecupdates.com and the LAN Clients are connecting through the WWW Proxy Server, then you would create a policy similar to:

WWW Proxy Server --> Policies
Add Everyone, User may be unknown.
Advanced tab:
Filter 1
This criterion is met if HTTP URL Contains symantecupdates.com
