PLease All
Since November 2006 my people can not send email to 80% of my clients thru wingate with the configuration below.
With the same configuration before November 2006 all the mail service worked without problems.
To by pass the situation I'am using a normal direct conection with my provider. All my clients receive mail and the spamhaus doesn't block the IP.
Can anybody please, help me to sort out the problem

Hi Zemends,
I read over spamhaus's website to see if there was anything that could contribute to this problem and I noticed the following information in the PBL section of the website.
"The Spamhaus PBL is a DNSBL database of end-user IP address ranges which should not be delivering unauthenticated SMTP email to any Internet mail server except those provided for specifically by an ISP for that customer's use. The PBL helps networks enforce their Acceptable Use Policy for dynamic and non-MTA customer IP ranges."
This means that Spamhaus could be blocking the emails because they are being relayed through WinGate. You may need to contact Spamhaus to confirm the expected behaviour of their software and how to bypass this policy based blocking for your WinGate server.
Sorry that I can't be of more assistance. I have not used spamhaus before and am not fully aware of it's effects.

I'm not using spamhaus. Some providers where my clientes resides are using it and that's the reason of the blockade . I think the problem is based on wingate smtp witch doesn´t authenticate the msg when relays to my provider. The only way I have to contact spamhaus is thru a very small and stupid message asking them to unblock the IP. The problem is that the IP blocked is not , my provider smtp Ip, but the IP of the connection with my provider which is dynamic. The only solution is wingate smtp mark my msg as "veryfied" or authenticated . This I don't know how to do.

smtp relay server

Hi logan
The only thing I kown is when I use outlook direct conection (outside wingate), I put as smtp server smpt.sapo.pt port 25 and pop.sapo.pt port 110 for send and receive mail.
doing a ping smtp.sapo.pt on the machine that holds the connection the result ip is 215.55 154.44.
Is the only information I have about my ISP smtp

Hi Zemends,
Try changing the delivery gateway to your ISP's smtp server and see if that helps. This will be a good option because you are on a dynamic IP address.
Gatekeeper -> System tab -> Email -> Delivery
Change "How to deliver" to use gateway, and enter smtp.sapo.pt in for the gateway server.

I have already tryed before and tryed again now. The msg hang on the mail queue for delivery, and retries al ot of times without delivering aything
Now I´m going to sleep. continue tonight.

in this case, spamhaus is a service that is being used by other servers that WinGate is trying to deliver to.
It works on the IP address of the server that's sending mail (in this case your IP). Your IP must be listed on a spamhaus blacklist.
Unless you can convince Spamhaus to remove your IP address (which may be impossible, if you are on a dialup connection, then you will be on a list of dialup IPs), you will need to send through a different server (like your ISP SMTP server). If you have queued mail, it won't be diverted. you would need to configure WinGate to "send to gateway on failure", so that when it fails to send, it will try your ISP smtp server.
otherwise you would need to get the mail reprocessed by putting the RCP and MSG files out of WinGate\Mail\holding and WinGate\Mail\domains\ back into the WinGate\Mail\PostIn folder

wingate and spamhaus

De facto you are right when you said I must send email outside Wingate to bypass the “spamhaus” blockade.
Now everything is working find. I both a ADSL modem router that allows me to configure 255 static IP addresses. All the pc connections are made thru a cascade of hub switches to access intrent. All the email traffic is made thru standard outlook express configuration for each pc (using the normal pop and smtp servers from my internet provider ). Each pc has a individual mail box account .
I remove wingate from my system.
