Connection with WinGate server terminated

Postby CasualSurfer » Apr 02 07 9:05 pm

Hi all,

I have a WinGate 6.2 installed. Was working beautifully till 2 days back.

My setup is like this.
1. Have a 2Mbps line, which is used by around 20-25 users

We wanted to remove internet access for a few PCs using IP addresses. Removed it. It was working fine after that as well. After about 2-3 hrs, the problem started.

There is no problem with the users accessing internet. Just that the GateKeeper can't be opened. it always throws the 'Connection with WinGate server terminated' error.

Things tried out already.
1. Registry settings for RCS to be deleted & start the engine again
2. Downloaded the default RCS registry settings & ran it & start the engine again.

None have worked & still the same issue. Any suggestions?

Cheers

Any help, please?

I am struck with the existing policies and can't change it. But have to change them as new / old employees need access.

Can any one help?

Try using the following reg file - it will allow the Administrator to access the RCS; you will want to stop the WinGate engine before applying, and then review your RCS Settings after starting.

If you are still having problems then export your WinGate registry and send it into the support desk.
GateKeeper --> Options menu --> Advanced --> Save Registry

Problem: Administrator Account was disabled.

Solution:
1. Stop the WinGate engine.
2. Navigate to the following registry location and change the value of "AccountEnabled" to 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Qbik Software\WinGate\UserDatabase\Administrator
3. Start the WinGate engine.
4. Login.

Hi,

I have enabled it. I have set it to 1.

It worked fine. Thanks a lot, all of you.
