Don't log user and computername

Postby giuliano » Apr 03 07 6:51 pm

Hi,
I'm using Wingate 6.2.1 and I'd like to log (WWW) only certain information. For example I don't wont to log user and computername. I've tryed editing columns in History tab but althought the information aren't displayed they are logged on file and, if I reboot the PC, my custom view (without user and computername) on history tab is replaced with the one with this attributes.

Actually, when I visit a site I got a row in my log file like that

03/17/07 07:38:47 192.168.0.1 MyPC 0000000705 Requested: http://forums.qbik.com/posting.php

I'd like to get a row in the log file like that

Any suggestion about it ?

Hi

There's currently no mechanism in WinGate that allows you to specify the format of log entries, so for the moment you're stuck with the extra information sorry.

I hope that you fix this soon because it's not legal anymore to log username in Italy.

Have you considered having all your users connect as the guest account, and then manage policies based off the ip address? You may also want to turn off History logging.

I already tryed that solution, but (I'm using version 6.2.1) that setting doesn't affect log file but only the history view inside the program.
