SSL Redirect

Postby defiantclass1 » May 17 07 3:07 am

I have had to use port 443 for a new webserver on my network. Therefore, I have been force to use another port for SSL for my Outlook Web Access/Exchange Server. I picked port 1105.

In Wingate, Extended Networking, I redirected traffic coming over port 1105 to my exchange server by entering the internal ip address of that server.

When I attempt to access the OWA site, I can see the hits in the Firewall tab of Wingate.

I don't know what else to do? If the port number is specified in the url, https://mail.xxxxx.com:1105, it should be going over that port, right? Which means Wingate should redirect it to the ip address I specified, end of story. So why is it getting snagged by the firewall?

Additionally, the firewall shows the traffic is coming in over port 1373/1374. Why is that? I clearly specified :1105 in the URL.

Thanks

If the connection is coming through an adapter marked EXTERNAL in WinGate, can you please make sure you are using the options "Connections from the internet", and TCP in the port redirection?

Yes, I verified that just now. It is set in the way you described. I also specified the port in the www proxy>>>https, as being allow for use as ssl.

Thanks

What happens if you set the 443 redirection back to the way it was originally? If that works, then what is the difference between the 443 and 1105 redirections? Can you post some images of them?

Well, if I do that, I'll not only have to bring down access to the other site (currently receiving traffic over 443) but I'll also have to re-do the settings in IIS on the one I'm trying to fix. Since all this occured when I made the switch, I'm afraid to change it in fear of messing up the one that works. But I understand I may have to do that if I can't resolve it otherwise.

Honestly, I'm not even 100% sure that the problem is in Wingate. It's just that I don't know where the rpoblem is, so I'm trying to eliminate any possabilities.

Where can I upload an image? I don't see that here.

Thanks[/img]

If you can send them to sales@qbik.com I will post them up - or alternatively you can just put them into one of your websites directories and link it
