Wingate Renewal??

Postby redman_8888 » Jun 09 07 8:09 pm

I'm IT dealer. I purchased WinGate V6.x Enterprise 50 concurrent users for my customer from reseller last year. Recently, i received an invoice from reseller for wingate renewal. I'm a bit confuse.

What's the purpose to renew the wingate v.6.x?? why wingate need to renew?? wingate is not one time license fee?

Urgent!

Thanks.

When you purchase a WinGate license, you purchase the features available at the time. When a version is released with new features in it then they will be locked for an earlier version license. So you can always expect to use the features you originally bought as well as the maintenance provided to those features when a new version is released.

What's the purpose to renew the wingate v.6.x

So you receive Version Protection - which means you will be licensed for new features that are released; a number of new ones will be available in WinGate 2007.

why wingate need to renew

If the Version Protection is renewed within 90 days before the previous expiry then it will cost 25% of the list price. If the Version Protection is renewed after the expiry then it will cost 40% of the list price.

wingate is not one time license fee

When you purchase a WinGate license, you purchase the features available for that license type at the time.

Hi

One thing - sounds like the renewal is a renewal of the version protection that came standard with any v6 licence.

It's not mandatory to renew the version protection policy, however should you in future wish to upgrade your WinGate version, then you'll need to renew your policy then, and if it has expired, the cost is higher than if it hasn't expired.

You can of course continue to use WinGate 6.x forever with your licence, the renewal is only like a maintenance contract for version upgrades.
