DHCP -> Assign a specific Gateway

Postby binfch » Aug 13 07 8:57 am

Hi there

Wingate acts as DHCP server for my whole network. Now for a few selected devices in the network (VOIP phones) I'd like to just specify another "gateway".

Can I configure that somewhere in Wingate? (I still want these devices to get a dynamic IP adress from the Wingate DHCP service)

Thanks,
Peter

Have you had a look at the help file?

WinGate Help File --> WinGate Services --> DHCP
The changes between version 6.x releases can be reviewed here:

if you want them to get a dynamic IP (rather than a reserved one), you can't use a reservation to set gateway for them.

If you don't mind if the server reserves some IPs for those devices, the best way to give them different configuration is by setting up reservations.

Actually I think this is the only way you can give certain machines specific configuration that is different to the options specified in the scope (which relates to all requests coming in on a certain adapter).
