Wingate Proxy server v5

I have a client who is using this software, Wingate Proxy Server V5 and they wanted to upgrade to a newer version. My question is that is there anything that i needed to do, like backup all the configuration files or remove the software and install the new version which is 6.2.2?

Hi,

Yes a backup never hurts.

From the Options menu --> Advanced you can save the current Registry.

The installation of the latest version should be seamless and the licence will still apply.

I got another question, can i just install the new release for the wingate on top of my customer old wingate server v5? will it remains all the config or being replaced?

Hi,

Yes, that will work, backup, install, reboot and check the Adapter Usage should be all that you need to do!
