How to setup a proxy server

hi every one i just want to know how can i configure wingate to work as proxy server to control the network. i want step by step to have a working proxy server.
i just used to use it as DHCP server.
Please Help me

i have been configured a proxy server but it is not working i don't know why?
when the client type a site name he had its ip but the site didn't open. is there any thing else must be configured?
i configured one user to use it for the client and the client use it really.
i configured the gateway to my gateway?
what else should i do?
