default gateway has proxy server ip address for non clients

Postby oig01 » Oct 23 07 5:07 am

I setup wingate on an xp machine on our network and tested it out with 2 computers. This morning a user notifies me that they cant get on the internet. It turns out their default gateway has changed to the proxy server gateway and I didn't even do anything on their machine. The settings took place as soon as they restarted their machine. I did a network connection repair and our normal gateway ip was back. This also occurred on two other machines.

I am not using windows directory for the database so I dont know what could be wrong.

Should I stop the dhcp service.

Hi

Sounds like WinGate DHCP server assigned them an address, so yes, if you are using another DHCP service, you should stop the one in WinGate.
