Can Wingate solve this multiple connections issue?

Postby Neal Kardec » Dec 13 07 11:56 pm

Hi!

I have a dialup HSDPA connection, through a USB modem. This gives me 2.5Mbit/s. I also have a Wlan connection that gives me 2Mbit/s.

Can I set up Wingate so that these two add up, so I can get 4.5Mbit/s when I use web or ftp?

If so, how do I configure wingate?

Regards,
Neal

WinGate allows you to use more than one internet connection, and the proxies in WinGate support this with their Gateway settings.

This is on a connection by connection basis, so on any one connection / download you'll only get the bandwidth of the internet connection used for that session connection. But overall over a network you effectively get the combined bandwidth.

To use this, in a proxy (i.e WWW proxy), you select the Gateways tab, select "use the following gateways in rotation", and add each connection.
