License Transfer

Postby rboynton » Dec 27 07 9:14 am

I need to build a different system to be my wingate server. I know that I can simply transfer the registry to give me the settings, but how do I make the egistration key valid on the new box?

Hi

you'll need to deactivate the licence on your old machine which you can do from the licence management utility (Start->Programs->WinGate->Licence Management)

That will free it up to activate on the new computer.

OK, I deactivated the license for Wingate and Puresight on the old proxy. Now how do I get it to transfer to the new system? I'm still running trial licenses on the new system.

once you deactivated it from the first machine, you should be able to enter the key into licence management / activation on the new one.

I had exported the registry key and imported it into the new system, but I guess that did not also bring across the license key. I have no idea where the license key code might be, so would it be possible for you guys to email it to me? sorry for the trouble. I tried to send you a PM, but it is apparently disabled on this board.

I remailed your order, you should have both keys now.
