Command Line Authentication?

Postby harlequinfloors » Jan 10 08 1:12 pm

Is it possible to authenticate to WinGate via the command line prompt? I mean, the Qbikauth.exe program I would imagine just sends the username and password to port 808 on the WinGate server, so perhaps it would be fairly easy to send the username and password credentials to WinGate via a command line prompt.

I'm not thinking this would be particularly useful in itself, but if it's possible - it would then allow me to add WinGate authentication into a batch file, allowing user-specific authentication at log-on, without the need to run WGIC or Qbikauth.

No, the way authentication works with Wingate is a bit different. QbikAuth creates a permanent chanel to Wingate, sending the user name and password down the line and then it keeps this connection open until instructed to log out - this is how Wingate knows that the user credentials are still valid.
