WinGate FTP-Proxy hangs-up FTP connection

Good day!
Connection via WinGate FTP-proxy very often hangs-up during FTP "LIST" command. Connection either is terminated due to timeout or ftp-client returns empty folder. This reaction depends on the ftp-client being used. F. e. FAR waits for some time and then terminates due to timeout, TotalCommander returns empty folder (while there are files, of course).
Everything is ok when connection is established via network gateway, not via WinGate.
WinGate 5.2.3 (build 901).

What may be the possible reason?

I wouldn't count on getting any answers about version 5.x; with version 7 approaching they're hardly answering questions about version 6.x problems.
