NAT Feature Request

Postby kgoodknecht » Dec 26 03 4:38 pm

Is there any chance that port forwarding per IP instead of per interface is in the works?
Main problem I have is I have five public IPs and two Public nameservers behind NAT. NAT in Wingate only allows port 53 on the external interface to be forwarded to one private address.
I had to set up UDP and TCP mapping to the two nameservers. The problem is, in order for zone transfers to work to two external Secondary servers. I had to allow zone transfers to the Gateway address because TCP mapping does not translate the external IPs. So I cannot control where zone transfers are going because my internal DNS servers can only see is the gateway address intead of the secondary DNS IPs.

I've bee using Wingate since version three, now up to 5.2.2. It has some nice features but the NAT is kinda weak on features, as far as NAT goes. The firewall is nice though, it just needs to support mutiple inbound IPs on the external interface.

you will want to keep an eye out for version 6 then, it will allow you to do this.

We hope to get a beta out in the next couple of months. It is a fairly major step up from version 5.x
