Thanks, Rob.

Is it possible for a Windows 2003 server to be a WinGate Client under the WinGate 6 and be able to access the internet? Will the Getekeeper ask the computer running the Windows 2003 server for authentication when accessing the internet? Thanks

Any computer can be a client behind WinGate, including Mac and Linux.

Whether the Windows 2003 computers are required to authenticate or not depends on how you set your policies. If you set your policies so that these computers are allowed access to the internet unauthenticated, then they won't need to provide authentication.

What about WS 2008

Postby olaf.krause » Apr 29 08 11:17 am

OK 64bit 2003 seems to be fine what about Windows Server 2008 (standard, enterprise to datacenter editions)?

I assume it will be OK since it will run under vista and also under windows server - can anybody confirm?

How is BETA testing going on?
I now replaced wingate mail server by another product - soon I will also have to replace my proxy/firewall . If possible I want to stay with wingate....

Just like Windows XP and 2003 share a common driver, so will Vista and 2008 I imagine. This means that WinGate will support the 32 bit versions of Vista and Windows2k8 initially then 64bit later on.
