beginers need help

Postby tobyt » Dec 29 03 12:42 am

hi,
hoping someone can help. i have just downloaded wingate 5.2.2 .
no probs so far. go to install and get an error message as follows

- internet connection sharing or the internet personal firewall (on windows xp) are installed on this computer. wingate will not operate correctly if they are running. you must disable internet connection sharing and the internet pesonal firewall in order to install wingate. -

probably a really easy question, but how do i disable i.c.s.
i am running win xp pro and have looked everywhere. i have even deleted my dial up connections and created new ones. its probably staring right at it but can't for the life of me find it.
i have also had a browse through the forum to see if anyone else has had the same problem.

if someone can give me the answer it would be much appreciated

regards

Right click on My Computer, select Manage, expand Services and Applications, select Services, right click on ICF / ICS select properties, set start up type to Disabled.
