WG hangs up.....

Postby jojielagrosa » Dec 01 08 2:01 am

Hi,

I am a novice user of WG, i was able to install WG have it work on its simple stage, i was able to share internet connection to others. I divided my recipients in to 4 groups, the 2 are using www proxy server and the other are using NAT connection. They have different individual restrictions, the common seeting among the 4 are the "assumed users" and the "maybe used instead", at the users tab system policies i put all the 4 recipents and copied their individual restrictions. For a while it worked as i have expected but after some few minutes my system hanged up and when it resumed, all the icons on the "system, services and users" tabs have vanished, there were no activities on the activity tabs and most of the pull down menu are on a blurd color or not usable. I tried un installing WG ang clean my registry as well, after i re-install all and made the same setting the same problem appeared again.

I know i may have made a wrong combination in order to get my required configuration, please, can you give me pointers on how to do this? By now, i am using WG with the "everyone" recipients and its working fine.

Thanks,

jojie

What version of WinGate do you have installed and what operating system are you using?
Are there any security suites, firewalls, or antivirus software installed on the computer?
Have you had WinProxy installed on this computer at any point in time?

Hi

Normally if when you log into GateKeeper you don't see anything, it means you logged into gatekeeper with an account that doesn't have permissions set to do things like

* view activity
* edit services

etc.

Check in the system policies in the Users tab, and make sure the account you are logging into GateKeeper with has these rights. By default the rights are granted to a group called "Administrators".
