Trial Software - Help!!!!

Postby gizmo » Dec 03 08 7:05 am

Downloaded the latest trial software and tried to configure it today. Whilst I got the WWW proxy working I came across other issues which are holding me up:

1. I asked for the ENS to be included as part of the installation and to be loaded
- this shows its not started even though I asked for it to do so
- If I click on the ... (elipses) button it states Active about to remove

2. We have hosted email accounts on BT and I was trying to configure wingate to be bypassed for Mail (ie SMTP and POP3) disabled.
- When I do this the Outlook client (not express) says it connects to POP3 but fails to connect to SMTP when trying the test connection
- it also states that the server has been found but is unable to be authenticated

It appears as though Wingate is still screwing something up as they were able to connect straight away before installation.

PS: The clients connect to an unmanaged switch, the Wingate server is configured as Internal on the 1st Lan card (192.168.x.x) connected to the switch and configured as external to the 2nd Lan card (10.0.x.x) configured to attach directly to the Router, which in turn connects to the ISP

Out of interest, the Windows Firewall/ICS isn't running by any chance is it?
