wingate dns set for proxy gateway

Postby liverpoolatnight » Jan 30 09 4:53 am

Hi

Im running wingate the latest and i was wondering instead of going though the proxy settings into ie and firefox, can you set the DNS to the wingate proxy server from the clients PCs to 192.168.1.7 to like this

Preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.7 (Current Winagte Server)
Atternate DNS server: 192.168.1.8 (Backup Wingate Server)

Cheers
Francis

Thanks for that nev :) Would it work if i setted the local DNS from my linksys wrt54gs to 192.168.1.7 so when my wii & my psp connects they will get a following ip of 192.168.1.x as my network starts at 192.168.1.2 and ends in 192.168.1.10 OR would i have to do a dhcp forward and set it to my wingate server ?
