Authentication without login window possible?

Postby pelumu » Mar 18 09 5:04 am

Since today I try WinGate test version and have a problem with authentication:

In the installation help I unterstood it so, that it's possible to authenticate users on http access without opening a login window in the browser, but I've found no solution for that.

Have I missunderstood anything or do I really need to install the WinGate-Client on all Windows clients.

Internet Explorer can be configured to automatically use the credentials of the logged in user (i.e. windows login credentials).

To do this:

1. Open Internet properties (tools options)
2. Select the security tab
3. Click "Custom Level" for the Internet zone
4. Scroll down to User Authentication (the bottom)
5. Select "Automatic logon with current user name and password"
6. OK, then OK.
