NTLM Authentication Question

Postby dezt » Mar 23 09 10:33 pm

I have been looking at setting up NTLM authentication so i can keep a better track of who goes on what sites, and have noticed that when you first open internet explorer up it asks for your username and password. I was wondering if there was a way of setting up wingate to just pick up these credentials from the logon information the user has already entered to login, or if not, if there was a way the user could enter there user name and password without having to enter
Code: Select all
domain\username
but instead just enter
Code: Select all
username
because the domain name is already entered in wingate through the config somewhere.

you can get IE to automatically use current windows credentials.

need to edit the security zone

1. in IE go to Tools, Options
2. Select Security
3. Click Custom Level
4. Scroll to the bottom of the list
5. Select "Automatic logon with current user name and password"

Regards
