Although I haven't had any personal experience managing WinGate on a Windows 2008 server (I'm waiting for 2008 R2 and Windows 7 before I go upgrading), we haven't had any Windows 2008 specific problems reported at the support desk for 6.5.2, so WinGate seems to be running just as well on Windows 2008 servers as it does on Windows 2003 servers.
The only problem to note, although a bit of a non issue, is that UAC doesn't like the WinGate Engine Monitor (system tray icon) and will throw errors at you when the system starts up. You can delete the WinGate Engine Monitor from the Start -> Programs -> Startup folder to stop the engine monitor from loading on startup and avoid the UAC error.
