Logfile Server

Postby rebelldtu » Apr 18 09 2:38 am

Hi
This may sound a little stupid but could you tell me how I add the Logfile Server?? Wingate 6.5.3..
I have gone to the services tab and right clicked but there is no Logfile Server listed in the list aof available services to add.
Cheers

OK - running two 1268 builds.

On the one where I haven't deleted it - it's there.

On the one where I have deleted it - I can't find a way to add it.

The logfile server is simply a WWW Proxy with the web server configured to serve the log file directory. I can get you instructions for setting it up next time I'm near a WG server.

Paul - don't let the "WinGate Guru" tag fool you. It's just in deference to Nev's and my advanced age.
We don't have a clue how to make it work either. Yet.

OK - best as I can figure, here's how it's done.

Create a new WWW Proxy Server. Give it a clever name like "Logfile Server" and a Service Port like 8011.

Web Server - Default - Edit - Action - Serve Request

Server Root Directory - C:\Program Files\WinGate

Default filename - Index.htm

Check - Permit directory browsing

OK

Policies - Give what ever users the needed rights. For testing you could use Everyone Unrestriced rights and Default rights are ignored.

OK

Then you should be able to go to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8011
