Mailserver in WinGate 6.6.1 - wanna filter SPAM ?!

Postby sigih. » May 30 09 11:37 pm

Salute again ...

I activated the internal mailserver in 6.6.1 b1278 ... great and easy to configure ... and works stable !

But I wanna set a few SPAM filter - Example:
I wanna block all "@gmail.com" incoming addresses - how and where can this be done ?
I wanna block all "@inbox.ru" in the plain E-Mail text - how and where can this be done ?

Can anybody help ?

In the SMTP server you can create a Ban List in Policies SMTP Sender Ends With @gmail.com.

Not sure how you would block based on message content.

... hmmm ... I did it, but it's not working.
SPAM mail's with "@GMAIL.COM" came still in.

Should the SPAM protection not be configured in the "RECEIVING" or "COLLECTION" field in the mail server ?

Are you using SMTP server or POP collection?

@ labull

I use "POP COLLECTION" for receiving and "SERVERS" for sending.
The problem is my providers (have about 20 accounts at 3 providers for my users) don't filter all the SPAM I want and so I have to do the rest ... OK a part of the rest ...

My old Mailserver had at the POP3 accounts collection the function to filter SPAM like "part of sender", "search plain text in mail", "ORDB Server" etc ... and send it to the mailboxes or th admin or delete it etc. ...
My old Mailserver was MERCUR 4.2x but the programmers stopped this product 2 years ago and I had problems the last time under XP prof. ... and it's more comfortable to use it inside wingate in only one programm ...

Emails received through POP3 Collection can not have SMTP filters applied to them, sorry.

@ LOGAN

Hmmm ... that's are not realy good news ...
Think the mailserver in Wingate 7 will be more flexible ... so a POP3 Collection filter would be very nice and useful.
